Outlook 2010 receives a 550 NDR 5.4.4 ROUTING.NoNextHop

While using Outlook 2010 a user would get an immediate Undeliverable message when sending to one specific address. The diagnostic information contained the code of:

#550 5.4.4 ROUTING.NoNextHop; unable to route ##
This may have been caused by the user clicking a mailto URL in someones mail signature. If the person’s mailto URL is set up incorrectly, it may have the email address composed incorrectly and not use SMTP.

To fix this issue it is not as easy as just deleting Outlook’s cached copy of that single address. It takes the removal off the entire auto complete address cache inventory to resolve the issue.
From the Start menu search box or Run…, type Outlook /cleanautocompletecache

Error when opening the Exchange 2007 Management Console

Getting this error when opening the MMC for Exchange 2007:

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
The following error(s) were reported while loading topology information:
get-StorageGroupCopyStatus
Failed
Error:
Cluster Common Failure Exception : Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {F2E606E3-2631-11D1-89F1-00A0C90D061E} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

After doing some research, the reason was because I was missing the cluster management tools as my Exchange Mailbox servers are in a CCR cluster. Makes sense <g>

Exchange Connectivity Tester

I was reading an article and came across this entry by the Microsoft Exchange team regarding a tool they setup to help exchange administrators troubleshoot connectivity problems. Check it out: http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com
Good stuff!
